What are my plans for tonight? My plans for tonight are watching movies. I live in a guesthouse with lots of different nationality people and tonight there is a movie night planned, so I think I will watch it. I don't have much money, so staying in is definitely a good idea for me.

What are my plans for the evening? Well, tonight I'm going to go out with a friend for dinner and then afterwards, we're planning to go see a bluegrass band. It's kind of interesting kind of music, not very common, and we're gonna listen to the band and hopefully we'll get to sing with them too. It might be fun.

What am I doing tonight? Well, it's a Friday night so I've got some time because my wife is in California and I think I'm gonna make some Mexican food which is a very popular food in California with all of the Mexicans who live there, and I'll probably make some burritos with salsa.

staying in
Staying in is definitely a good idea.
When we stay in, we choose to stay home. Notice the following:
- The weather looks bad. Let's stay in today.
- I don't feel well. I'm going to stay in.
go out
I'm going to go out with a friend.
"Go out" means do something outside the home. It can be a fun activity or nothing special. Here are two examples:
- Tomorrow's a holiday. Let's go out dancing tonight!
- I have a lot of homework so I don't go out much during the week.
need to
We need to chat.
"Need to" means we must do something. Notice the samples:
- I can't go out tonight. I need to study.
- She needs to pass the final exam or she'll have to repeat the class.
doing stuff
I was doing stuff yesterday.
We know that 'Stuff" can mean just about anything. Here, Simone is talking about activities she did. See the other examples below.
- There's a lot of cool stuff to do in Rio.
- I have many friends, but sometimes I like to do stuff alone on weekends.
take it easy
I like to take it easy after a long, hard day's work.
"Take it easy" means to relax. Here are two sample sentences:
- I'm going to stay in and take it easy this weekend.
- You look tired. You should take it easy for a few days.
