Am I shy?

When we are shy, that means we are not comfortable meeting new people.  Notice the following:

  1. My son is very shy with strangers.
  2. She's a shy, quiet girl.

a reserved person

I'm a a reserved person.

Someone who is reserved is quiet and does not often express opinions or feelings with others.  Notice the following:

  1. My boss is never reserved during office meetings.
  2. I was shy and reserved as a kid.

interacting with people

I like interacting with people.

People who interact talk, work, study, or socialize with each other.  Notice the following:

  1. My job includes interacting with people.
  2. She hates interacting with customers.

socializing

I like making friends and socializing.

When we socialize, that means we spend our free time with other people.  The word is a bit formal. Notice the following:

  1. Her busy job leaves little time for socializing.
  2. I usually socialize on weekends.

not in the mood

I'm not in the mood to talk.

Our mood is how we feel.  If we are in a bad mood, our feeling is negative.  We often use this phrase when we don't want to do something.  Notice the following:

  1. I'm not in the mood to study.
  2. I love Japanese food, but I'm not in the mood for it.
