extensive

I'm planning an extensive trip.

Here, the word extensive is used to mean a long period of time.  It can also be used to talk about almost any large project.  Notice the following:

  1. He's taken extensive leave for his illness.
  2. The team will conduct extensive research and testing.

overrun

It's been overrun with tourists.

If a place is overrun, that means there are too many people.  It's most often negative.  Notice the following:

  1. The camp is overrun with refugees.
  2. During the sale, the mall was overrun with shoppers.

dog sleigh

I want to go on a dog sleigh.

A dog sleigh is a kind of transport without wheels that is made for traveling over snow and is pulled along by dogs.  Notice the following:

  1. I'd love to travel Canada by dog sleigh!
  2. My girlfriend feels sorry for sleigh dogs.

acrophobia

I have acrophobia.

People with acrophobia have extreme fear of high places.  They could never, for example, go skydiving.  Notice the following:

  1. My brother has acrophobia.
  2. Doctors can't explain acrophobia.

rugged mountains

There's lots of rugged mountains.

Rugged mountains are high and difficult to travel through.  Notice the following:

  1. I've hiked the rugged mountains of the Himalayas.
  2. Our train slowly made its way through the rugged mountains.
