Hi, my name is Julia, I'm from the UK and my question is do you think that animal labor is cruel?

In general I'd say no, I don't think it's inherently cruel. I think probably there are a lot of animals that are mistreated in the world. There is certainly a lot of animal cruelty, not just animal labor but domestic animals, pets and things are mistreated. I think if the animal is taken care of properly and the animal is happy and healthy and doing something that is in some way natural to its physique and its abilities then I don't think that constitutes cruelty.
