A 'take-away' is a meal that you buy from a restaurant and then take it home to eat.

Normally, stuff from the supermarket you can just throw in the microwave, ready meals.

A 'ready meal' is a meal that has already been prepared and only needs to be heated to be ready to eat.

Notice the following:

  1. My fridge is full of ready meals.
  2. You have to be careful with ready meals as they can be very high in salt.

musical instruments

Can you play any musical instruments?

A 'musical instrument' is something that you play in order to make music, such as a guitar, piano or saxophone.

  2. When you play a musical instrument you have to make sure that you practice every day.

scale

I had to play scales all the time and it was really boring.

A 'scale' is a series of musical notes that all have different tones.

A 'tune' is a melody or a song.
