My routine is a little irregular.

When something is irregular, it is noticeably different. Notice the following:

  1. His behavior is a little irregular.
  2. He had an irregular heart beat.

sevenish

I get home about sevenish.

Here the term sevenish means around seven. Sevenish could be between 6:45 and 7:15. To make an estimation, just add 'ish' to the end of the number. Notice the following:

  1. We will meet around fourish.
  2. We should finish around threeish.

night owl / early bird

I'm kind of a night owl.

A night owl is a person who likes to stay up very late. And early bird is someone who likes to get up very early. Notice the following:

  1. My wife is a night owl and I am an early bird.
  2. I was an night owl in college but now I am an early bird.

like a zombie

In the morning I'm like a zombie.

A zombie is a dead person that can move. It is from horror movies. If you act like a zombie, that means you have no energy and are very sleepy or not awake. Notice the following:

  1. I'm a zombie until I get my first cup of coffee.
  2. I was a zombie after studying twelve hours straight.

nostalgic

You feel nostalgic for childhood.

When you feel nostalgic for something, that means you miss the thing the time you enjoyed it. We are often nostalgic for childhood or good times in life. Notice the following:

  1. The TV show made me nostalgic for my hometown.
  2. My father is nostalgic for life before all this new technology.
