(A1) Good Answer - Part 4 - Responding
Part 4: Good Answer 🗣️
Welcome to Good Answer.
This lesson trains a very important skill:
How to answer well in English
Not just correct English.
Clear, fast, and natural English.
The key question
When you speak English, ask yourself:
Is my answer easy and interesting to listen to?
Answers feel bad when:
- The listener must repeat the question
- Your answer is very slow
- You answer the wrong question
You usually have only about 3 seconds.
In that time, people notice:
- Your speed
- Your pronunciation
- Your accuracy
This lesson helps all three.
Why this is hard to practice
Most textbooks do not practice this.
In class, students often hear slow or simple English.
You do not practice real questions enough.
How the activity works
There are 20 lessons.
Each lesson has 5 questions.
That is 100 real questions.
Each lesson has 3 levels.
Level 1: Choose
- Listen to the question
- Choose the best answer
Level 2: Choose + Say
- Listen
- Choose
- Say the answer out loud
Level 3: Your Answer
- Answer by yourself
- Give 2 ideas in about 8 seconds
- Sound calm and natural
No reading first.
Listening comes first.
Why this works
- You understand questions faster
- You answer more quickly
- You avoid strange answers
- You feel more confident
This helps in:
- Daily conversations
- Work
- School
- Social situations
Simple advice
Do all three levels:
- Click
- Say
- Respond
This prepares you for the next lesson.
You will hear real speakers answer the same questions.
If you want to sound natural and confident:
Give a good answer.
