Listening Gap-Fill Activities

Now, on elllo, there are new lessons called TALKS, each with a gap-fill activity for students to check their listening ability.

A good way for students to check their listening ability is by doing a listening gap-fill activity. Students can listen to an audio lesson of authentic English and fill in the missing words online!

Often, when students do listening tasks, such as the ones on elllo, they take a quiz. While quizzes are a good way to check comprehension, they are not great for checking listening.

A better activity is a gap-fill activity. These activities are also a great way to practice grammar. Students can predict what the missing word is, and see how words are related to one another.

There are 25 new new listening lessons that have gap-fill lessons. Most of them are at the intermediate level, but they are easy enough for high-beginners, and challenging enough for even advanced students!

Also, all of the audio lessons are 60 seconds or less, so they do not take that long to do.
